The following appears in an opera review from Vienna: "Da sorgte er dafür, dass zupackende Direktheit und forsche kraftentfaltung zu ihrem musikalischen Recht kamen." Cannot find an adequete translation of "Recht kommen".

    Difficult.

Something with "due". Got their due portion, received their due attention... and alike.

Thanks for the suggestions, but they don't seem to fit the rest of the text. What about "suited/were appropriate" for his musicality? Would it be a possibility?

OK, I think I understand now what both TH and "oops" are say: basically that the musical aspect "received due attention" or something along those lines. Does that sound right?
