    "As I am looking for a post to continue my academic career after the completion of my doctoral thesis, I consider the fellowship programme to correspond excellently with my academic interests and expertise. It is highly attractive to me, as it would allow me to specialise in those fields I am most interested in."

    Das sind meine Anfangssätze für das Motivationsschreiben für eine Post-Doc Stelle in Rechtswissenschaften im angelsächsischen Raum. Passt das so? V.a. fällt mir kein starkes Adverb ein, das zu "correspond" passt, um auszudrücken, dass das Programm sehr gut zu meinen Interessen und meiner Expertise passt.

    correspond excellently -> match well

    Consider:

    "I consider the fellowship programme a highly attractive opportunity for continuing my academic career after the completion of my doctoral thesis. The programme matches well with my academic interests and expertise and would allow me to specialise in the fields in which I am most interested."

    (I personally have no problem with "specialize in the fields I am most interested in"; but it might be safer not to end your sentence with a preposition, as some people do worry about that.)

    (I changed "those" to "the" to soften the sentence slightly, but "those" would be OK too.)
