    There's nothing wrong per se with "shocked eyes". I would suggest inserting a comma after "open" though.

    Even 4 years later, I still don't think "shocked eyes" makes much sense; one can obviously have a shocked expression or an expression of shock, but the eyes? And a result of only 100 google hits total for "with shocked eyes" doesn't make for a very convincing argument for prolificacy, imo: https://www.google.com/search?q=%22with+shock...
