Comment		Liebe Mit-LEOnidinnen und - LEOniden, bestimmt ergeht es Euch auch manchmal so, dass Ihr bei "prominenten" Persönlichkeiten des öffentlichen Lebens (Schauspieler, Sportler, Politiker, ...) geradezu verblüffende äußerliche Ähnlichkeiten feststellt, obwohl diese eindeutig nicht miteinander verwandt sind ... Wobei nach meiner Erfahrung andere "neutrale Beobachter" oftmals ganz erstaunt und verständnislos reagieren: "Ich finde, die sehen sich überhaupt nicht ähnlich!" ... Manchmal liegt es ja auch nur an einem ganz bestimmten Blick/Gesichtsausdruck oder eine Pose der jeweiligen Person. Es darf hier also munter drauflos diskutiert werden - entsprechende Bildbelege sind natürlich immer willkommen :-) In meinen Augen sehen sich z. B. recht ähnlich: - "TV-Richter" Andreas Hold und der deutsche Schauspieler Hans-Jochen Wagner - Lena Meyer-Landrut und Schauspielerin Morena Baccarin - Cameron Diaz und Ellen Barkin Helen Hunt wurde nach eigenen Angaben bei "Starbucks" mit Jodie Foster verwechselt: http://www.spiegel.de/panorama/leute/helen-hu...

Comment		#2 Es geht aber doch gar nicht um Namensverwechslungen, sondern um's optische Verwechseln? Eine Zeit lang fiel es mir ziemlich schwer, Fritz Karl und Thomas Sa(a?)rbacher auseinanderzuhalten.

Hm, stimmt - die Ähnlichkeit zwischen Fritz Karl und Thomas Saarbacher war mir bislang noch nicht bewusst aufgefallen. Allerdings habe ich Fritz Karl auch schon mit anderen Schauspielern verwechselt - einer davon könnte Ronald Zehrfeld gewesen sein ... Manchmal bringe ich auch die beiden Krimi-Darstellerinnen Maria Simon ("Olga Lenski" aus Polizeiruf 110) und Lisa Wagner ("Kommissarin Heller") durcheinander.

Comment		Damals (...) Mitte der 1990er, hatte Peter Gabriel absolut verblüffende Ähnlichkeit mit Mel Gibson (!!), wenn man mal von der Körperlänge absieht. Wer mag, sucht mal nach der Secret World Tour in Modena 1994 oder 1995. Ich hab SO aus der Wäsche geschaut.

Comment		Die österreichischen Kabarettisten maschek haben kürzlich Peter Simonischek als gealterten Werner Faymann präsentiert. Völlig absurd, meint man, die sehen sich doch überhaupt nicht ähnlich - aber in dem Interviewausschnitt war's glaubhaft.

Comment		Ich fand mal, dass Cameron Diaz eine gewisse Ähnlichkeit mit Hillary Clinton hat. Und Armin Mueller-Stahl sieht absolut aus wie mein einer Onkel, aber den kennt ihr nun nicht :-). Dafür meinen einige Leute, ich sähe aus wie Mirko Slomka.

There's so much facial recognition software now available, I wonder if there's even an app somewhere to compare photos. Comment		Die US-Schauspieler Dan Aykroyd, James Belushi, Bill Murray und Tom Hanks konnte ich lange Zeit kaum auseinanderhalten. Ungefähr gleiches Alter, immer ähnliche Rollen, ähnliche Gestik und irgendwie gleiches Aussehen.

Comment		Kann da kaum mitreden, weil für mich bis auf die Musiker fast alle böhmische Dorfbewohner sind. [Findet auch sonst jemand, dass sich Bob Dylan und Robert Zimmerman gleichen wie ein (Hühner)Ei dem anderen?] Kann mich allerdings erinnern, dass es mir vor Jahrzehnten nicht gelang, Meryl Streep und Glenn Close auseinanderzuhalten. Aber weil die beiden inzwischen unterschiedlich auseinandergegangen sind, dürfte das jetzt nicht mehr passieren.

Comment		So, I just saw an old episode of Midsomer Murders with 'Ellie Haddington' in it and I'm still convinced that 'she' is Ian McKellen. I wonder if it's a clue that the IMDB page for her has no still photos, only videos. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0647504/fullcredits/ I wonder if that's partly why Angela Merkel has said she likes that show -- spotting people in disguise. I sometimes think a lot of the rather sturdy-sized village ladies could be men in drag, so much of that series is so tongue in cheek anyway. Für die Österreicher kann ich nicht sprechen, aber im deutschen Fernsehen sieht man Juergen Maurer häufig, vor allem in Kriminalfilmen und -serien. Die Ähnlichkeit mit R. Harrington auf einigen Fotos ist wirklich verblüffend (mit Bart jedenfalls).

Comment		Ich las vor einigen Wochen (Monaten) eine Bericht, in den die Verwandtschaftsverhältnisse speziell US-amerikanischer Schauspieler aufgezeigt wurden. Erstaunlich (wirklich?) viele Geschwister, Halbgeschwister, Cousins, Cousinen. Das könnte auch so manche Ähnlichkeit erklären.

Comment		hm--us, ich kann dir persönlich bestätigen, dass Juergen Maurer ein österreichischer Schauspieler ist. Den hab ich doch schon öfter ganz in echt im Burgtheater gesehen. Und in 'Vienna Blood' spricht er sich im englischen Original auch selbst, das ist seine richtige Stimme. :-) (Ganz gut, die Serie, oder?) Aber Haydn Gwynne aus deiner #22 sieht für mich aus wie Helen Mirren.

Comment		Yeah, it is pretty good. (-: Thanks for all the feedback, and for setting me straight on the last name of Mr. Maurer, Maurer, Maurer. The settings in Vienna, and the turn-of-the-century costumes, art, etc., are especially attractive, and I really liked the conceit of setting a drama in that period, when there was so much intellectual and artistic ferment in the city. The plots are a tad slow-moving for my taste, and many of the secondary characters seem flat and uninteresting, not fleshed out enough with individual personalities, like the young Jewish doctor's rather dull rich family. But on the whole it's not bad at all, especially after so many months of mostly reruns without much new programming. The most annoying thing is that the episodes are only 45 minutes, so they fill up 5 of the remaining 15 minutes of the hour with the same 'making of' segment each week, where the producer and directors and actors all just pat themselves on the back about how proud they are and what a good job they did. One guy talks about having had music specially composed, and I felt bad about that because I usually do pay attention to music, but I never really notice it in that show, only that there are longish stretches where not a lot happens. 'The making of' is just a thing that PBS seems to do a lot of now, I guess because it fills up extra airtime without actually having to create any more real dramatic content, and I suppose allows them to use shows that were made to also be usable on TV channels with commercial interruptions. I would always rather just have more actual plot and characters, and less sheer time-filling. But this year and last year especially, it's hard to tell how much they may have just had to adapt the writing and the shooting for reasons related to the pandemic. I'm grateful that they managed to produce new shows at all -- though I'm also happy enough to see re-airings of older series that we haven't seen over and over recently, like Bleak House.

Comment		So are we all watching it at the same time, or had it already aired in Europe? There is indeed a language aspect to it, in that most of the Austrian characters just speak English, as they discuss in the 'making of' part. Unlike, say, Around the World in 80 Days, which has already had subtitles under French, Italian, and Hindi. A multilingual one is kind of fun, but you can't be watching it and doing something else like a crossword or you miss parts of the plot.

Comment		Der ORF hat's schon ab 2019 gezeigt, gleich nachdem die Folgen fertig waren. Auf Deutsch synchronisiert, wo sich die Österreicher und Deutschen natürlich selbst sprechen, nur Folge 5 und 6 habe ich dann auf Englisch noch einmal nachgesehen. Das war irgendwie eigenartig, weil man schon einiges an deutschem Akzent hört. Wie klingt das für ENS? Making-ofs waren aber nicht dabei, im Öffentlich-Rechtlichen kommt dann sofort Werbung, weil sie zwischendurch keine senden dürfen. :-)

Wenn eine Sendung 45 Minuten dauert, fängt danach (oder nach der Werbung) halt gleich die nächste an.
