Is that the new PC term for "mixed-race"?

I don't think it's so new, or so PC. It's been around for a while. Here's an excerpt from a 2019 BBC article on "mixed race," where it's included as one of a number of options:

Being mixed race can mean different things to different people. Usually your parents and/or your grandparents are of different races or ethnicities. Sometimes the terms biracial, dual heritage and mixed heritage are used instead.
