"in the shortest/best time" als Synonym für "in the fastest time"

"in the shortest/best time" als Synonym für "in the fastest time"

    Kommentar

Susannah Gill successfully completed seven marathons across seven continents in seven days to win the World Marathon Challenge in the shortest/best (?) time.

Ist es möglich hier "shortest" oder "best" zu verwenden?

    Sagt man wirklich "fastest time"?

At least in AE, fastest time works.

re #1 I've heard it often. He had the fastest 100 m time last year... (also AE)

re OP I would say "with the shortest/fastest/best" rather than "in".

But actually, the sentence is redundant, don't you think? If she won, then obviously she had the best aggregate time. Why say that at all if you are not going to tell us her actual time (total or average), or at least how many other people she competed against in the challenge? If you did that I wouldn't stumble over any of those three superlatives

"with the best time among the ..." (or whatever)...

    ... Challenge

    .

#3: Der Satz aus dem OP stammt aus dem diesjährigen bayerischen Jahrgangstufentest. Die Musterlösung wäre "in the fastest time" gewesen.

I wouldn't mark shortest, fastest or best wrong.
