    In meinem Roman (spielt in LA) war von den drei R die Rede. Es ging dabei um ein Mädchen, das gerade nicht zur Schule gehen kann. Es wies darauf hin, dass es ja die Bücher aus der umfangreichen Bibliothek des Hauses lesen könne und es auch tatsächlich tue. Ein R ist also read. Was sind die anderen zwei R?

    The three Rs [...] are three basic skills taught in schools: reading, writing and arithmetic (usually said as "reading, 'riting, and 'rithmetic"). The phrase appears to have been coined at the beginning of the 19th century.

    Aha, doch LSR. Dass die Wörter wegen der Rs zurechtgebogen wurden, war mir nicht klar. Danke :)
