    Hi, i got kind of a odd question..

    im supposed to give a little presentation about bad words in english, and there is one subtopic "substitudes" i intend to say number two as a substitude for to shit.

    my question is: does number two appear in menus? it is just an idea, but if that collocation is assiziated with something that involves emtying your bowels it would sound odd if someone ordered number two...??

    Yes, we can order meals simply by quoting a number, and it would be possible to order "Number two, please!". But the connection to ones and twos in the other sense is so remote that I doubt any English speaker would make the connection.

    In school I always say "Item one" and "Item two" just in case.

    @blabla: Wenn die Nummer zwei auf der Speisekarte fehlen würde, würde jeder, der die Nummern durchgeht, noch viel eher an die Darmentleerung denken, weil er jeds Mal zwischen "1" und "3" daran erinnert würde, dass die Nummer zwei fehlt - und warum. Oder?
