OOOOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOOoooooo!! thank you sooo much. even this part will save me hours of time.
We started the correspondence course May 2nd. We just have a CD-ROM to follow and a booklet which is essentially just the CD-ROM with pictures and no answers. It's called Introduction to Reading German I, and I'm enrolled in the second one in July -- though I'm seriously reconsidering if this is the "easy" part. It basically is just teaching us to recognize cognates, internationalisms, and essentially teaching us how to "guess". I'm not a fan. I've taken French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Latin, and this is by far the worse way of going about learning a language I've encountered yet. It's actually kinda funny sometimes..... question 1 will be "What does Schule mean?" and a couple questions over will be something like "Spot the subordinating phrases and the inflected verbs"..... some are worse too, but it's just so varying in difficulty that it frustrates me.
Here we have a page and a half of pure German (much like the paragraphs you helped me with), we'll answer questions about it (true or false), then we'll have to identify all numbered parts of sentences with as much detail as possible, "like in the example below, include gender of nouns, cases, kind of prepositions, definite and indefinite articles, verb forms, adjectives, adverbs, kinds of pronouns, prepositional contractions, kind of conjunctions ETC" -- the etc worries me a little..... what could be more than that???? hahahaha oh well, I guess I'll be up all night doing this stupid assignment.
Thanks again for your help so far, I'll write the next paragraphs in my next post.
