    thanks codero

I meant it more like turning away from someone, quasi in disgust, the person is appaling, although the person is not stinking horribly

one is disgusted by that person, it's not hate

Why reject "loathsome" -- it seems to fit your wishes exactly (at least according to a dictionary...a handy resource.)

    Merriam-Webster:
    Full Definition of LOATHSOME
: giving rise to loathing : disgusting

You make your own suggestion, too: appalling
    Full Definition of APPALLING
: inspiring horror, dismay, or disgust

    obnoxious might be rather neutral,
I like feculent but that is probably too offensive.

Not if the proper context is given. One can be ugly externally as well as internally.

I might say detestable or despicable; lots of possibililties, depending one's personal feelings I think

I'd go with "loathsome", "detestable" or "despicable". "disgusting" or "appalling" might work too.

    # 4, I don't know if feculent is too offensive, but you'd certainly have most people running for a dictionary :) :)

I've just looked it up - it's about as strong as one can be in this context I'd say :-)
