I don't think there is a single alphabet that every English speaker will use. GIs brought home the military alphabet: Able, Baker, Charlie, Delta, etc. However, that's been superceded, and the standard (though not used by everyone) is the one recommended by the International Telecommunications Union. Hangman is a word game that needs nothing beyond paper and pencil. Dots and Squares is another game with pencil and paper. (Fill a paper with a grid of dots. Players take turns drawing a line from one dot to another - no diagonals. Each time a player forms a box, he writes his inital inside it and takes another turn. At the end players add up how many boxes each has formed. The one with the most boxes wins.)

Alpha-Zulu is the one we use in England.
