I'm not sure there's a good English word for that; the translations given in LEO (whisper, which would be without bothering the vocal cords, and murmur, which implies imprecise articulation) don't quite seem to say the same. It's more a kind of talking with an additional vocal layer of groaning, maybe a bit through the nose. Also stereotypical of treehuggers in Germany, I think. ("Ja, du, das find ich jetz also richtig gut, ne?")
