    How would you abbreviate "Advocate General"? AG, or does no one understand, what is meant by this abbreviation?

    Adv. Gen. should work. But why? Surely it's not too long to mention it at least once, in full?

    In legal texts some things are always abbreviated - e.g. the names of courts - and it would seem odd to state the meaning of the abbreviation the first time one uses it, e.g. European Court of Justice (ECJ). So, I wondered if Advocate General is one of these words...

    Nachdem "AG" die Abkürzung für den "Attorney General" ist und der wiederum was anderes als der Advocate General zu sein scheint, würde ich die Abkürzung nicht für den "Advocate General" verwende, da dies zu erst zu Verwunderung, dann zu Verwirrung und letztlich zu Verzweiflung führen kann.
