    well, know what it means;
    what I'd like to know is, whether native speakers would choose this expression here or not...?

    ooops, edit: have chosen the wrong category.
    Anyway: what would be a good German translation then .....

    Randthema passt gut, find ich.
    Oder auch noch
    Nebensächlichkeit? Nebensache?

    well, sure, something like Randthema in German.
    Sorry for being in the wrong section here...

    My question was, if a native ENGLISH speaker would use' fringe issue' to translate something like a Randthema into English language, particularly in a headline.
    May be, one or the other mother tongue peeps into this..
    .....?
