    Wie übersetze ich Hörplatz - d.h. einen Sitz- oder Stehplatz, an dem wenig bis kaum Sicht auf die Bühne besteht, allerdings alles gehört werden kann?

    In the U.S., for instance for Broadway shows, one can buy last minute tickets called "rush tickets".. which could actually be anything.. either sitting or standing, depending upon the event.

    A venue, such as a theater can have "standing room only" admission tickets available.

    Unterstütze #1: Platz mit eingeschränkter Sicht ( egal, ob Stehplatz, Restplatz o.ä.)

    Yes, the Metropolitan Opera in NYC has "standing room tickets" which are available only on the day of the performance.

    Thank you - I'll go with "restricted view"!

    'Restricted view' is the only thing I know, though it doesn't exist in most US opera houses because they're more recently built, without pillars or columns or whatever. For that designation I might expect some slight view, maybe only of part of the stage. I think we sat in one once at Covent Garden, and it was way up in the rafters, but you could see sometimes, sort of.

    If it's really a seat where you can't see anything at all, you might need to say something more specific, like 'No stage view.'

    Danke auch von mir, die Vorschläge zur Umschreibung merke ich mir.

    Und entschuldigt schon, Leute, Restplätze und Stehplätze sind etwas völlig anderes. Man muss eine Anfrage schon lesen, bevor man “ich weiß auch was über die Oper“ ruft.

    Just for the record, Stehplätze are indeed standing room, and Restplätze might be rush, or reduced-price tickets shortly before curtain, day-of-performance discounts, something like that.

    If I interpreted Rest- correctly as 'remaining.' Even though it looks like it ought to mean a comfy couch from which to watch the opera. (-;
