    Is 'confidence' the wrong choice in this context?
    Wish to integrate the connotation of 'schenken' in the sense of 'demonstrating or proving'. The whole text is very emotional.

    Dude's probably right, although for some reason (in the UK at least) banks refer to "customers" .

    They do in the US, too, but that's understandable for people who (used) come in, do their business, and leave. That doesn't seem to be the case in the OP.

    But as their main business is providing services and investment advice (to invest in products that are most profitable for themselves e.g , as a recent survey in DE has again shown) "clients" would actually be more appropriate I think.

    Maybe these days, but I think originally a bank was simply a place where people would go to deposit their savings in the hopes they'd be safe. The "customer" may still be a hold-over from those days.
