I found a good list of German words under "scallywag" (often used as a synonym for troublemaker) here in Leo:
Schlingel, Lausbub, Tunichtgut, Lauser, Lump, Taugenichts, Kümmerling, der Louis, der Scalawag, das Gesindel
I've been called a "Lausbub" before in jest. Does this also mean troublemaker?
Maybe there's something there for you? I would love to hear what German native speakers associate with these words. Lauser and Lump for example sound archaic and I'm quite certain that not many Germans would know the word "Scalawag", but perhaps other contributors can enlighten me on the connotations these words have and whether any of them fit the "troublemaker" bill.
