No, "wired" does not mean that you have to work with electronic gadgets.

If a person is "wired" he is "aufgedreht" or "unter Strom" in a figurative sense.

I would translate "tired but wired" with "müde aber aufgedreht" or something similar. "To be wired" is in no way meant to be taken literally.

"Fix und fertig" doens't rhyme, but it's an existing phrase with some nice alliteration.

I've also heard "fix und foxi" before and it was used to mean "fix und fertig" (and also seems to be a comic book series).

Duselig aber wuselig (for drowsy and restless)

Geschafft und voll(er) Unrast (near rhyme/unsauberer Reim)

Erledigt aber hibbelig (both also a near rhyme)

Müde aber hyper (near rhyme again)

Synonyms for "müde":

hundemüde, totmüde, erledigt sein, geschafft sein, erschöpft sein, bereift sein, fertig mit der Bereifung sein, ermattet, duselig, im Leerlauf sein....

Synonyms for "aufgeladen sein":

getrieben sein, hyper sein, aufgedreht sein, geladen sein, hibbelig, überdreht sein, aufgekratzt sein, ruhelos, rastlos, voller Unruhe, voller Unrast, wuselig...

For these types of translations I can advise using a thesaurus to compile a list of synonyms to work with and perhaps even try to get your hands on a good rhyming dictionary (you might be lucky enough to find an online rhyming dictionary instead of having to buy one).

'fix' und 'fertig' means 'knackerd' - there is no element of 'wired' in it. So it doesn't work here, although it sounded good ;-)

'hyper' is a good idea, but the others also don't quite work; 'voller Unrast' is the wrong register, and 'erledigt' and 'hibbelig' don't rhyme because the stree is different. But ten points for trying.

I'm usually quite lenient in terms of register while brainstorming, but you are right that the register of certain words or phrases should probably be mentioned for all those Leos who need to know in order to make an informed decision.

Oh, sorry, 'stree' is 'stress'. The stress is different, and so it would never occur to me to see 'erledigt' and 'hibbelig' as rhyming. They sound totally different.

I agree on the stress being different in erledigt and hibbelig, that's why I take it to be a near rhyme, and not a full rhyme. I think people may have different tolerance levels on what can be considered a rhyme or near rhyme. Let's agree to disagree ^^
