    bit (Bohrmaschine)

    Sources
Definiert ist dieser Begriff wie folgt:
An object which is used in conjunction with a drill. Its purpose is normally to connect the drill to a screw, and make it possible to turn the screw with the drill.  It can differ a lot in shape, size and length, but it always has a cylindrical shaped shaft close to one end, which is where the drill holds the bit.

Wie heißen diese Einsätze zum Eindrehen von Schrauben im Deutschen? "bit" ist vermutlich etwas zu unspezifisch bei Bohrmaschinen, da die Bohreinsätze wohl auch als "bits" bezeichnet werden?

Bit is widely used in e. g. German tool suppliers' catalogues. Schrauberklinge seems to be synonymous but is longer.

The shaft of the bit is hexagonal, not cylindrical, as the photos in the link show. This makes it possible to change bits quickly by removing them from or inserting them into a bit holder that in turn is held by the chuck of the drill or electric screwdriver.
