    This contract governs the rights and (joint) obligations of the client, and of the contractor whilst processing personal data on behalf of the client

    Oder es ist einfach "services" gemeint. Schaut mal bei "Auftragsdatenverarbeitung".

    Thanks for the suggestions. I think there are three alternatives that all mean the same:

    - commissioned data processing
    - outsourced data processing
    - data processing on behalf of the client

    Sometimes "order(-)data processing" has come up in searches, but that doesn't sound right at all.

    Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass Auftrag hier iSv Projekt oder Job/Einzeljob verwendet ist, ähnlich wie #2.

    Normalerweise hätte ich wörtlich gesagt "by commission", was auch einen sinnvollen Satz ergäbe. Kenne mich aber nicht besonders mit Vertragsrecht aus.
