I agree with SP (UK). "What did you do on your first day at work?" "Oh, I had a meeting with someone from HR and one with my new boss, and I spent some time setting up my desk."
Re #4: This distinction between Windows PC and workstation used to be present in English too, at least in the places I worked at about 20 years ago, but it seems to have disappeared over the years, and workstation, in an office environment, can also refer to a Windows PC nowadays.
Perhaps confusingly, outside the office, workstation is also used to refer to the individual position with all its associated tools etc. where someone works on a production line.
Re #3: cubicle is also used in BE.
