Blei in Anstrichfarben

Anstrichfarben blieben vom Blei-Boom nicht verschont, seine mineralischen Derivate waren als Pigmente weit verbreitet; zu erwähnen sind das graue Minium auf Warmwasserheizkörpern, die orangerote Mennige, die als Rostschutzfarbe verwendet wurde, oder das Kremser- oder Bleiweiß, das als Wand- und Deckenfarbe gegen Schimmelpilz in Badezimmern benutzt wurde.

Bleifarbe kann in allen Bauten vor 1915 gefunden werden, in älteren Gebäuden unter Schichten neuerer Farbe, die alte Beschichtungen überdecken, und zwar oft an den Wänden der Küche, des Wohnzimmers oder auf freiliegenden Balken eines Fußbodens von Häusern aus den 1970er und 1980er Jahren.

Es geht wohl um Farben, die zur Dekoration / Verzierung dienen, im Gegensatz zu solchen, deren Hauptzweck der Oberflächenschutz ist.

That's only partly right. Trim includes the decorative pieces that are used to "finish off" a room. Door trim, window frames, windowsills, baseboards, cornices, etc.

Trim paint is the paint that is used to paint that (and thus not the wall).

Trim paint is a category of interior paint that is formulated specifically for use on trim. It has a satin, semi-gloss, gloss, or high gloss sheen. Trim paint usually comes pretinted in bright white and in base colors that can be custom-tinted. In traditional household interiors, walls are usually painted in flat or eggshell gloss, wooden trim (including doors and window sash) in high gloss, and ceilings almost invariably in flat. Similarly, exterior trim is usually painted with a gloss paint, while the body of the house is painted in a lower gloss.

The degree of gloss in the US is often a degree lower than is common in the German-speaking world.

My experience does not match the wikipedia article on that point. Of course, peoples' homes varied a great deal, and I didn't pay that much attention. But most of the areas I lived in had older homes, which were (back then) not owned by milllionaires who could refinish or replace trim wood every time they painted.. High-gloss paint... nah. Wouldn't have looked good in our house and I really do think it was less frequent. But whatever. Perhaps the wikipedia article writer has real numbers, I don't.

Trim paints are: more expensive, have a sheen that falls in the range of satin to high gloss range. They are supposed to be durable and resist damp well, they can be wiped with a damp rag. They can be acrylic or latex based, and there are other versions out there too.

Dispersionsfarben sind emulsion paints, kurz emulsion, und die gibt es im UK sehr wohl. Ein Hersteller mischt die Farbe sogar ganz nach Wunsch an.

Penguin, das habe ich dann im Laufe der Jahre alles gelernt, wenn du jedoch das erste mal in einem frenden Land nach einem dir bekannten Produkt suchst und fragst, dann wirst du schnell in die Irre geleitet, wenn du nicht genau erklären kannst, was du meinst und zudem der Meinung bist, "nee, das ist es nicht". Bin ja kein Fachmann auf dem Gebiet.

Ich denke, wir hatten alle schon solche Situationen und daran musste ich jetzt denken, als eineig fragte, was denn trim paint sei (ich kannte den Ausdruck bislang auch nicht).
