    "light-hearted" may also mean "leichtherzig" in German but leo doesn't offer it as a translation. I was in doubt as to whether it was just a false friend, but I looked it up, the word "leichtherzig" really exists in German.

    In this context "light-hearted" is more along the lines of "fröhlich, vergnüglich", while "leichtherzig" is more like "sorglos, unbekümmert".

    I agree with Norbert. "Light-hearted" means "not meant to be taken too seriously". It's sort of a joke. "Half-hearted" means something that is done without trying very hard: "He made a half-hearted attempt to finish the race."
