Just wondering what a nice translation of this is in German? Just because I watched Chekov's Three Sisters in Russian the other night and it dawned on me that a good translation for "Чаю хочется. Полжизни за стакан чаю!" would be "My kingdom for a cup of tea!"
    :)

Sorry, sorry, I probably should have added that the literal translation of the Russian there is actually "Half my life for a cup of tea" so it doesn't necessarily have to do with kindgoms...

In Germany, we would say "Ein Königreich für..." as well as "Mein Leben für...". Generally expressing that we would do everything to get s.th., we would say "Ich gäbe alles für..." oder "Was gäbe ich für...?"
