NO, Englishfreak, that would mean "ein Problem verbreiten"

"circumvent" passt in dem Zshg. auch nicht: http://thesaurus.reference.com/browse/circumvent

Just wondering: Please take a look at the hits above - 142 for "circumvent discrimination", part of them referring to "discrimination law/litigation", more than 70,000 hits for "avoid discrimination"

It just doesn't sound right to my ears.

    to avoid = vermeiden
to circumvent = umgehen, unterlaufen, überlisten

Native speakers, your opinion is needed.

...wearing school uniforms can evade discrimination...

Hab's einfach mal dreist aus einem Blog genommen und auf das Thema umgewandelt, hoffe das hilft. Hier die Quelle: http://managingmiracles.blogspot.com/
und der entsprechende Originalsatz: "Whether or not highly technically savvy users can temporarily evade discrimination has little to do with how such practices would effect the activities of the majority of the population."

#9: OK, das hat aber nichts mit dieser Anfrage zu tun. Hier wird davon gesprochen, dass jdn. der Diskriminierung entgeht oder sie umgeht.

You evade taxes, but not discrimination. You can, however, evade discrimination liability.

"Evade" sounds just as inappropriate as "circumvent" - where are the natives today? ;-)
