No idea what exactly is meant without knowing the film, but whatever it means you could get away with saying e.g.

"the film is atmospherically tight"

Dieser atmosphärisch dichte Spielfilm über den drogenbedingten Absturz eines berühmten Djs... ist auch ein Porträt vom Rhythmus unserer Zeit.

Not sure what atmosphically tight would mean either... could it mean 'close' as in claustrophobic? Or does it mean that the film is atmospheric through out?

No idea. That's the neat thing about translating: you don't always have to know what's meant ;-) Seriously.

In fact you'll find people saying "has a tight atmosphere" (of music and places) if you google those words. Who knows what they mean?

atmosphaerisch dicht ist schon ein haeufiger Begriff in Filmrezensionen. Ich hab das immer verstanden als: transportiert viele/intensive Eindruecke von der geschilderten Situation/Atmosphaere. Also nicht close as in claustrophobic, wuerde ich sagen.
