    wo ... die Tschechei

    Correct?

    which

    Examples/ definitions with source references
    Am 24. Oktober 1938 hatte Beck bei Hitler fragen lassen, ob man nicht den Ostteil der Tschechoslowakei, die sogenannte Karpato-Ukraine abtrennen und Ungarn zuschlagen könne. Polen und Ungarn sind zu der Zeit verbündet. Hitler ist im Oktober 1938 damit nicht einverstanden. So „schützt” Großbritannien fortan die Polen, weil Deutschland die Tschechei gefleddert hat, wo Polen die Tschechei vorher wegen Deutschlands Veto selbst nicht fleddern durfte.

    So Great Britain henceforth “protects” Poland because Germany has plundered Czechia which Poland itself previously could not plunder because of Germany’s veto.

    "wo" = "die Tschechei"

    Is the grammar of the last sentence correct?

    One could translate "wo" as "although". Can "wo" = "obwohl"?

    Yea, I had just decided on "whereas" myself. That's certainly the best translation, but does anyone know if this usage of "wo" is common?
