Die Aucklandente, auch Neuseelandente, Neuseeland-Kastanienente oder Grünohrente genannt, (Anas chlorotis) zählt innerhalb der Familie der Entenvögel (Anatidae) zur Gattung der Eigentliche Schwimmenten (Anas). Im Englischen wird die Aucklandente Brown Teal oder New Zealand Teal genannt. Aucklandente wird gelegentlich auch als Unterart der Anas aucklandica geführt.

Die Neuseelandente (Anas chlorotis), auch Neuseeland-Kastanienente oder Grünohrente genannt, ist ein neuseeländischer Entenvogel, der zu den Schwimmenten gerechnet wird. Wie die Aucklandente und die Campbellente, die lange Zeit als Unterart der Neuseelandente eingeordnet wurden, ist auch die Neuseelandente in ihrem Bestand bedroht. Der aktuelle Bestand wird auf 912 Individuen geschätzt. Die IUCN stuft die Neuseelandente als stark bedroht (endangered) ein.[1]

For many years it had been considered to be conspecific with the flightless Auckland and Campbell teals in Anas aucklandica; the name "brown teal" has also been largely applied to that entire taxon. Common in the early years of European colonisation, the "brown duck" (as it had been often referred to) was heavily harvested as a food source.
