Der Rotgesichtkolibri (Goldmania bella, früher Goethalsia bella), manchmal auch Rotwangenkolibri genannt, ist eine Vogelart aus der Familie der Kolibris (Trochilidae). Die Art hat ein kleines Verbreitungsareal im Grenzgebiet von Panama und Kolumbien. Der Bestand wird von der IUCN als potenziell gefährdet (near threatened) eingeschätzt.
Merkmale
Der Rotgesichtkolibri erreicht eine Körperlänge von etwa 8,9 Zentimetern. Der gerade Schnabel wird ca. 13 Millimeter lang. Der Scheitel sowie die unteren Wangen des Männchens sind kastanienbraun. Der Rest der Oberseite ist metallgrün. Die Unterseite ist überwiegend glänzend grün mit zimtfarbenen Elementen am Kinn sowie den Seiten. Die zurück gebogenen weißen Federn der Unterschwanzdecken zieren steife Büschel. Der Schwanz ist gelbbraun mit schwarzen Flecken. Die zentralen Steuerfeder sind grün. Ein weiter zimtfarbener Streifen durchzieht den Ansatz der inneren Armschwingen. Die Oberseite des Weibchens ist grün. Zwischen Schnabel und Augen befindet sich ein kastanienfarbener Scheitel. Die Unterseite ist blass zimtfarben und wird Richtung Brust weiß. Das übrige Gefieder ist ähnlich wie beim Männchen. ...

The Pirre hummingbird (Goldmania bella), also somewhat misleadingly known as the rufous-cheeked hummingbird,[3] is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae.
Found in Panama and far northwestern Colombia, its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. It is threatened by habitat loss.
Taxonomy
The Pirre hummingbird was first described by Edward William Nelson in 1912 from specimens collected near Cana and the slopes of the Cerro Pirre in the Darién National Park in eastern Panama near the border with Colombia. Nelson coined the binomial name Goethalsia bella.[4] A molecular phylogenetic study published in 2014 found that the Pirre hummingbird was closely related to the violet-capped hummingbird in the genus Goldmania.[5] The two species were therefore placed together in Goldmania which has priority.[6] The species is monotypic: no subspecies are recognised.[6] ...
