    Can I get away with saying babbling or rambling? Babbling and unpacking does not really seem to make much sense.

    Unpacking doesn't work, as you rightly say. Larousse and Collins both give 'outpouring' as a definition of 'déballage', but I don't know how you'd insert that into your sentence smoothly.


    ...for writing to be anything other/something more than just ramblings or outpourings...

    Yes, it's tricky, especially as the author is obviously playing with sound here too...


    Same author as the other forum post, by the way, she writes in German and French.
