Can I get away with saying babbling or rambling? Babbling and unpacking does not really seem to make much sense.

Unpacking doesn't work, as you rightly say. Larousse and Collins both give 'outpouring' as a definition of 'déballage', but I don't know how you'd insert that into your sentence smoothly.
