is divergent or even heretical belief. Reformation is that word we use to speak to the recovery of the correct doctrines
and their vigorous application to all of life.http://www.ccwtoday.org/article_view.asp?arti...
we must distinguish between those who have been condemned by the Church as heretics and those who embrace incorrect or heterodox doctrines
Most American Christians will either say that they are earning their salvation (Roman Catholic) or that they “got saved” (Protestant/Evangelical, etc.). Both are heterodox teachings! Both teachings are far too
legalistic. Both teachings pump the Christian up to a level of knowledge that they simply do not really have. The Roman believes that they need to follow the simple commands of the Church and the Protestant believes the same but through a simple one time command (through the “sinner’s prayer” or through a more sophisticated concept called “justification”). The Canon of Scriptures as well as the canons of the councils do not speak of salvation through the obedience of rules but through a process of divinization; becoming a part of Christ himself and His kingdom. It is so much more of a healing process and even absorption than it is a moral or doctrinal process.http://classicalchristianity.com/2010/10/30/s...

The Anglican Church was founded on fornication, divorce, murder and heterodoxy
That's to say, if she was falsely accused of heterodoxy

One can imagine how often heterodoxy
is ignored or not recognized, given the state of the US Church's hierarchy. If heterodoxy
were challenged and put down regularly, this wouldn't be newshttp://www.catholicculture.org/commentary/otr...
One thing Catholics should never do is try to avoid the fact that there have been immoral and heterodox
members in the Church. Jesus didn't promise that the Church wouldn't be menaced by immorality and heterodoxy

I shall suggest that the 'deism' Stukeley was actually targeting was the Arian heterodoxy

Aikenhead’s case was not the first example of heterodoxy

Growing diversity of opinion on theological topics--from the nature of God and the Trinity to the terms of salvation to the nature of the church--reflected this new climate and were on the rise as Edwards matriculated at the Wethersfield branch of the fledgling Connecticut Collegiate School in 1716. (...) so attuned was Edwards to the potentially corrupt influences of heterodoxy
that, upon meeting tutor Samuel Johnson (later an Anglican missionary), he promptly returned to Wethersfield. Only after Johnson was dismissed did Edwards go back to New Haven. (...) . Here, for the first time in public, he took on the forces of heterodoxy
. He defended the proposition that sinners are saved through faith in the sacrifice of Christ alone. (...) Through the 1740s, continuing his campaign against heterodoxy
, Edwards worked on a number of fronts toward a defense of Christianity and the Bible against critiques by Deists and others.http://press.princeton.edu/chapters/s7973.html
In the Hartford Declaration, there is much repudiation but very little affirmation. There is even less concern "to sit with the others" who are indirectly accused of heterodoxy

Our seminaries NEED chaste, manly men to lead them; orthodox men to teach them; and reverent, prayerful men to help them worship God properly. The heterodoxy
in the seminary is only matched by the liturgical abuses and often the total lack of reverence combined with the underground immorality after dark. http://www.personal.psu.edu/glm7/m142.htm
