Cis-trans isomerism and facial-meridional isomerism
[...] When three identical ligands occupy one face of an octahedron, the isomer is said to be facial, or fac. In a fac isomer, any two identical ligands are adjacent or cis to each other. If these three ligands and the metal ion are in one plane, the isomer is said to be meridional, or mer.

Ein Komplex wird als meridional bezeichnet, wenn man jede Gruppe von Liganden so beobachten kann, als läge sie auf einem Kreis (entspricht dem Meridian eines Globus). Wenn ein Komplex facial (engl. face = Polyederfläche) angeordnet ist, sind alle drei Liganden jeweils benachbart.

Facial und meridional beschreiben in der Chemie zwei moegliche Anordnungen von Liganden in oktaedrischen Komplexen.

LEO fuehrt bereits meridional-meridional, aber mit den Auszeichnungen [astr.][geol.]. Ich schlage ein zusaetzlichen Eintrag fuer die Verwendung in der Chemie vor, da man dann auch die gelaeufige stereochemische Abkuerzung (mer-) mit aufnehmen kann. (Die Abkuerzungen fac- und mer- bitte in kursiv, wenn moeglich).

Fuer "facial" existiert nur das deutsche "fazial", das mW in der Medizin ueblich ist (zum Gesicht gehoerend). In der Chemie wird zur Beschreibung der Stereochemie die Schreibweise mit "c" verwendet, daher ebenfalls ein neuer Eintrag.
