Caveats
To keep an eye on the progress of someone else's patent application or patent, you can register a caveat with us.

A caveat is a warning, or notification, that some action has taken place on a patent application or patent. We do not tell the applicant or patent owner of the patent that a caveat is in place.

You can ask us to notify you of any of the following events or actions:

application published, or withdrawn, refused or deemed abandoned before publication
opposition filed against an application
application registered, or withdrawn, refused or abandoned after publication
patent not renewed
patent renewed or expired
patent surrendered or revoked
assignment application received
patent assigned, either partially or in full
anything else

Under British patent law, a "caveat" has nothing whatever to do with objecting to renewal of a patent. In fact, there's no such procedure as objecting to the renewal of a patent.

Does anyone know if patent offices in German-speaking countries offer a service analogous to the one described above? If so, what is it called? If not, can anyone come up with a German expression covering this meaning of "caveat"? Otherwise, the entry should be deleted. It's just plain wrong.
