El FC Barcelona estaba dispuesto a emprender acciones legales contra Salvador Sostres y el diario ABC por los insultos racistas que el periodista catalán vertió hacia el joven delantero azulgrana en la crónica que escribió del Barça-Ferencvaros. Sin embargo, la rectificación hecha hoy por Sostres deja la querella aparcada.
El polémico y xenófobo articulista escribió esto sobre Ansu Fati: “Ansu corriendo tiene algo de gacela, de mantero jovencísimo y negro que de repente veías corriendo por el Paseo de Gracia cuando alguien al grito de: ‘¡Agua, agua!’, anunciaba que la Guardia Urbana había llegado. Selváticas estampas en el corazón de la ciudad. Ahora esto no pasa, porque para Ada Colau los delincuentes son los policías y no los manteros, que ya no tienen que salir corriendo. También es cierto que sin turistas, les flaquea bastante el negocio”, relata.
primero en reaccionar y denunciar semejante atrocidad fue Antoine Griezmann. A través de su cuenta de Twitter, el delantero francés y compañero de Ansu en el Barça, escribió “Ansu es un chico excepcional que merece respeto como cualquier ser humano. No al racismo y no a la mala educación”, escribió el francés, que adjuntó y subrayó el artículo donde Sostres muestra su racismo.
Tampoco lo pasó por alto el ex delantero del Barça y colaborador de MD Gary Lineker, que a través de su cuenta de Twitter también estalló ante los insultos racistas de Sostres a Ansu Fati. “Gary Lineker, con pasado en el Camp Nou: “Es asqueroso, como si hubiésemos retrocedido 50 años”, escribió el inglés.

Spanish newspaper ABC has issued an apology to Barcelona forward Ansu Fati after their match report compared his pace to that of a “black street seller” fleeing the police.
The 17-year-old put in an impressive display in Barcelona’s 5-1 victory over Ferencvaros on Tuesday night in the Champions League, scoring their second goal. However, the aftermath of the victory was soured by the paper’s description of the Guinea-Bissau-born Spain international.
ABC’s report said: “Ansu in full flight has something of a gazelle about him, of a very young, black street seller that you suddenly see running along Paseo de Gracia] when someone shouting ‘water, water’ [to warn other street sellers] announced that the local police have arrived.
“Now this kind of thing does not happen, because, for Ada Colau [the left-wing mayor of Barcelona], the criminals are the police and not the street sellers, who no longer have to run away. It is also true that without tourists, business is rather weak.”
ABC is known in Spain as a newspaper that favours right-wing political parties and is an advocate of their policies.

I came across this term via a story in the Guardian today, and it wasn't familiar to me.

This sense of the word isn't in DRAE, but it's in LEO Es-De, so I just wanted to mention it here as well.
