The Tawny-faced Quail (Rhynchortyx cinctus) lives from east Honduras to northwest Ecuador. It is found in dense humid forest in foothills and adjacent lowlands. Its measures are of 19 cm (7 inches) in length and 150 g in weight.
In males, the crown and eye-stripe are dark brown. Rest of head is rufous, and throat is whitish. Its breast and back are slay, and the rest of upperparts are brown, finely marbled and barred with buff and black. Upper mandible is dark gray, and lower and legs are pale gray.
