     Die Blaukappenamazilie (Saucerottia cyanifrons), auch Blaustirnamazilie, Indigostirnamazilie bzw. Indigostirnchen, ist eine Vogelart aus der Familie der Kolibris (Trochilidae). Die Art ist endemisch in Kolumbien. Der Bestand wird von der IUCN als nicht gefährdet (Least Concern) eingeschätzt.

     Merkmale

    Die Blaukappenamazilie erreicht eine Körperlänge von etwa 9,1 cm, wobei der gerade Schnabel 1,8 cm lang ist. Der Unterschnabel ist überwiegend rot. Der Oberkopf des Männchens ist indigoblau, der Rest der Oberseite schimmert grün, geht aber am Bürzel in kupferbronzene Färbung über. Die gesamte Unterseite glitzert grün. An den Beinen hat sie kleine weiße Büschel. Der blau-schwarze Schwanz ist leicht gegabelt. Die Färbung der Weibchen wirkt etwas trüber.[1] ...

     The indigo-capped hummingbird (Saucerottia cyanifrons) is a species of hummingbird in the family Trochilidae.

    It is currently found only in Colombia.

    Taxonomy

    This species was formerly placed in the genus Amazilia. A molecular phylogenetic study published in 2014 found that the genus Amazilia was polyphyletic.[3] In the revised classification to create monophyletic genera, the indigo-capped hummingbird was moved to the resurrected genus Saucerottia.[4][5]

    The indigo-capped hummingbird has an indigo cap. Its body is emerald green and its back is dark brown. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, subtropical or tropical moist montane forest, and heavily degraded former forest. ..
