Are small sized pacific swift and was not in the old illustrated bird book in Japan. This species is observed from 1960 (Showa 35), and first confirmed them of breeding in 1967 (Showa 42). After that, are increased in number and also found them in Tama area and Tokyo 23 wards area. Chirp “chu li li li” and hunt for flies and mosquitoes in the air. Build nests with muds and feathers on the concrete walls underneath the elevated railways and roads. Sometimes borrow nests of house martins. The breeding season is from April to June and lay two to three eggs in a season. Birds in apodiformes order are the ones able to stretch four toes forward which enable this species to rest on vertical concrete walls. ...

The Little Swift (Apus affinis), or House Swift, is a small bird, superficially similar to a Barn Swallow or House Martin. It is, however, completely unrelated to those passerine species, since swifts are in the order Apodiformes. The resemblances between the groups are due to convergent evolution reflecting similar life styles.
The eastern race, House Swift, is sometimes considered a separate species, Apus nipalensis.
The scientific name comes from the Greek απους, apous, meaning “without feet”. They never settle voluntarily on the ground.
Distribution
Little Swifts breed around habitation and cliffs from Africa eastwards through southern tropical Asia to western Indonesia.
Unlike the more northerly Common Swift, many birds are resident, but some populations are migratory, and winter further south than their breeding areas.

The little swift (Apus affinis), is a small species of swift found in Africa and southwestern Asia, and are vagrants and local breeders in southern Europe. They are found both in urban areas and at rocky cliffs where they build nests in a way typical of all members of the order Apodiformes. The genus name Apus is Latin for a swift, thought by the ancients to be a type of swallow without feet (from Ancient Greek α, a, "without", and πούς, pous, "foot"). The Latin specific affinis means similar to or related to, but in this case the species that the little swift supposedly resembles is not clear from the description.[3] A population formerly considered to be an eastern subspecies of little swift is now separated as a distinct species, the house swift (Apus nipalensis). ...
Description
Little swifts are readily identified by their small size. Their wingspan is only 33 cm compared to 42 cm in the case of common swift. Their plumage is black except for a white throat and rump, the white rump patch extending onto the flanks. They have a short square tail, with all rectrices round-tipped. The flight is fluttering like that of a house martin, and the call is a high twittering. Like other swifts they are very short-legged. The legs are used for clinging to vertical surfaces only.

Включает 15 видов стрижей средних размеров, распространенных в Евразии и Африке. Два крупных стрижа со светлым брюхом, в том числе обитающий в горах юга России белобрюхий стриж Apus melba, ныне выделены в отдельный вид Tachymarptis. Окраска темная, однотонная или с белыми пятнами на горле и пояснице. Хвост заканчивается вилочкой или обрезан прямо.
Несколько видов, в том числе черный, белопоясный (Apus pacificus) и малый (Apus affinis) стрижи - типичные синантропы, непременные обитатели крупных городов.
