    Currently, LEO only contains these definitions for Leistungsspitze:

    1) fitness peak (measuring the physical fitness of an athlete)

    2) peak power, power peak (the speed at which an engine is the most powerful)


    It would be nice to also include:

    3) power surge (when a powerful pulse of higher than normal electricity passes through an electrical system, possibly causing damage to connected devices and equipment)

    Die angeführten Quellen und zweisprachigen Wörterbücher entsprechen nicht dem Qualitätsstandard bei LEO. no me bré macht normalerweise in solchen Fällen auf den entsprechenden LEO-Hinweiskasten aufmerksam.

    Thank you, Rominara. I appreciate it. I had searched for "Leistungsspitze" in some, but not all of the German references in the list from LEO that you provided. Since I'm not finding many uses of "Leistungsspitze" to mean the same thing as "Spannungsspitze" or "Überspannung" either in these sources or on the Internet, I think I should probably withdraw my suggestion for a new entry.

    (Unless any of my fellow LEOistas can find any sources that support this usage.)
