Thanks for the comment, Doris; I haven't really been gone, perhaps just a bit overworked!
There's one other factor at work here as well, I suspect: starting some weeks back, I noticed an explosion in the number of posts, especially in the first forum (English missing). This makes it less likely we'll "see" each other, even if we're posting as much as before. Sometimes I find the sheer volume of new queries per day daunting, and perhaps I don't know where to begin. I also miss seeing the older posts, because they're pushed down lower now, due to the high volume of new ones.
And there's also a lot more duplicate queries, words already in Leo, zero-context and completely inscrutable or baffling queries and I tire of explaining the rules to neophytes; I try to be kind but sometimes my sarcasm leaks out. But I'm starting to lose patience.
If the Leo forums are going to continue to be as useful a resource as it has been hitherto in the face of greatly increased volume, I think it will soon be almost a necessity for the Leo Team to add some kind of (free) registration, to weed out those who won't bother to put in a minimum of effort in return for us answering their German or English One homework questions. This would also help us in not having to enter all our details every time, not to mention "collisions" between Reinhard 1, 2, having to fight out who is the "real" Peter or Doris or what have you.
And finally, it would be nice to have a fifth forum, the Rathaus, or Stammtisch or something, where you and Reinhard W and everybody who contributes regularly can go to have the kind of discussion we're having right now, which I feel a little guilty having in a thread entitled "maybe at least.." as it's not really responding to the original question.
Hans, are you there? Despite the (understandable) gripes, I'm sure you'll get a response if you add a bit of context, please; help us help you.
