    OK, I admit the first response was somewhat bi**chy - but HEY gimme a break the question was "I would like to know if my translation is correct..or not." It wasn't - so my answer was ok -
    The common phrasing is:
    We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.
