(pronounced /ˈpaɪsɨs ɒsˈtraɪnəs/, genitive Piscis Austrini /ˈpaɪsɨs ʔɔːˈstraɪnaɪ/), also known as Piscis Australis (/ɒsˈtreɪlɨs/, Latin: southern fish) is a constellation. Its name is Latin for "the southern fish", contrasting with the larger Pisces, which also represents fish. Prior to the 20th century, it was also known as Piscis Notius. Piscis Austrinus was one of the 48 constellations listed by the 1st century astronomer Ptolemy, and it remains one of the 88 modern constellations. Its only bright star is Fomalhaut.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piscis_Austrinus
