Another eventful year is almost over and, in addition to all the things happening in the world, there has also been a major change at LEO with the start of ­LEO Pur. We have had many requests over the year for an ad-free version and we are very pleased that we are finally able to offer just that. We are thrilled that so many of you have already signed up for this new offer.

Once again we would like to express our sincere thanks to all of our users for making contributions to our dictionaries and forums, pointing out mistakes or missing entries, sharing ideas for improvement or making financial donations. Without your support, LEO would not be what it is today. Thank you!

As every year since ­1994­ we have filled another 24 ‘doors’ with Christmas ‘goodies’ for you and hope this year’s edition of the ­LEO Advent calendar­ will add a bit of sparkle to your screen time.

For some time now, we have been working on a way to provide LEO in browers, too, without advertising (similar to what is available/presentation in the apps) – and, instead, to offer our services for a monthy (or annual) subscription fee. This means that users who feel disturbed by advertising can now decide (for themselves) whether they would prefer to use LEO with advertising (and to continue to do so free of charge) or without it.

You may already be familiar with such options, for example, from duden.de, faz.net, spiegel.de and many other sites.

We would like to make an offer particularly to those who feel disturbed by advertising and the personalisation of this advertising which lies behind it. The subscription is linked to your LEO user account and is currently only valid for the website, but not at the same time for the apps (where there are independent subscriptions). However, in the future we would like to offer one subscription for all devices.

We are aware that some texts have not been translated yet, and we will add these translations as soon as possible. As with any major change, we are very interested in your constructive comments, criticism and suggestions, preferably via ­Email to the LEO Team

Wir freuen uns sehr, Ihnen zwei neue Kapitel der englischen Grammatik präsentieren zu können: Die Konjunktionen stehen nun ebenso zur Verfügung wie das Kapitel zum Komma. Sie finden diese als Ergänzung zu den bereits veröffentlichten Kapiteln Substantiv, Artikel und Pronomen in LEOs englischer Grammatik, die für alle Nutzer kostenlos zur Verfügung steht.

Die weiteren Kapitel sind in Vorbereitung und werden so bald wie möglich folgen.
